Northern Sweden, yes.
Southern Sweden, no.

It’s now around 5 degrees Celsius = 41 Fahrenheit here in southern Sweden during the day.

Where is “here” for you?

It has snowed once so far this winter.  That was 2 days ago.  The temp last night dropped to 7 degrees F (too cold to snow).  Today and tommorow it’ll probably be a little to warm to snow.

Snow is on the ground here, but it rained today.

Kuaidang, you alluding to Poe or Parsons?

“For my own part, I have never had a thought which I could not set down in words, with even more distinctness than that with which I conceived it. There is, however, a class of fancies of exquisite delicacy which are not thoughts, and to which as yet I have found it absolutely impossible to adapt to language. These fancies arise in the soul (alas how rarely!) only at epochs of most intense tranquillity—when the bodily and mental health are in perfection—and at those mere points of time where the confines of the waking world blend with the world of dreams.

“And so I captured this fancy, where all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

I consumed too much caffiene today, and that was one of the symptoms.

Here I am in Vancouver, BC Canada. Today on the Skytrain on the way to work many of the passengers looked north to see the snow on the Mountains. It’s beautiful. It’s rare to get snow in the city except in the first two weeks of January and even then it’s iffy. In 2010 Vancouver will host the Winter Olympics. I think it’s great that we won the competition. However, I think it may be a shock for visitors to see cherry blossoms instead of snow. I read that Vancouver has the distinction of the warmest city that has ever hosted a Winter Olympics.

If you think that’s hot, you should try 80 F. That’s what it was yesterday when I posted.

Mid-thirties and some snow flurries for the first time this season here in Cleveland.  It was in the sixties on Wednesday.  Parts of the city got hit with several inches of snow overnight, but where I am there isn’t even any traces of it, really.

“And so I captured this fancy, where all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”

A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM
by Edgar Allan Poe
1827

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep–while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
