Fade in and Fade out

I clicked on the Joy of Tech link in the DT sidebar and a new Safari window opened with a fade in and then did a fade out when I closed the window. Is that a new thing in Safari? I never noticed it before.

I notice now that the same fade in /out is in all windows. Not just Safari. The only thing new I’ve installed was the latest iSync update and Konfabulator. This fade thing just started happening today after I restarted. My machine had been on since I installed 10.4.2

I am not seeing that fade effect. I’m running 10.4.2.

Ok, dimly remember installing something, sometime ago that was supposed to do “effects”. I’m feeling like I’m having a senior moment right now. I just can’t remember what or when. I’ll have to check the logs I guess.

Yup, I did install something called Slider which does indeed provide those effects. I installed it sometime ago and completely forgot about it. I guess I have not logged out for a few weeks because it only becomes effective after logging out and back in again.

Yup I really like it. The opening animation is very useful. If you have lots of windows open over two screens it gives you a visual clue to where it is on your screen.  Men are like dogs. They are immediately visually drawn by motion. You can turn the closing animation off if you want.

So did you already have it installed? What are your settings?

I just installed it eariler tonight, but I heard of it before. I just have it set to fade windows in and out (sans animation) just to add to the user experience. :D
