Will the PS3 eventually sync iPods, complete with purchased music?  Now that the Motorola iTunes phone is available, we know more iTunes partnerships are on the way.

Microsoft even claims you can sync your iPod with their hardware, perhaps the XBOX 360 (Xbox 2.0).  Here’s an ancient post from BetaNews in May this year about that - http://www.betanews.com/article/iPod_to_Connect_with_Xbox_360/1116012979

I’d like to see a non-desktop/laptop device for syncing my music and more.  You?

I suppose if you didn’t want to buy a computer such a feature would be useful.  But if you can afford an iPod, you can probably afford a computer.

Just to correct this from what I hear, the XBOX 360 *plays* your iPod on your TV but it won’t act as its hub.  And as far as music on the PS3 they have Blu-Ray and I have my first Blu-Ray disc by Switchfoot (Beautiful Letdown) that I’ll never play until these players dip under $300.  So I think it’s important that Sony makes Blu-Ray into their game console and I hear the fact that there are many factories for Blu-Ray while HD-DVD “is only being made in one” so how about that for costs going down?  So all of this generation’s consoles are music-friendly but Sony’s does the highest quality format.
