So I’ve finally started using this thing and there is a deal-breaker in it and I’m going back to iPhoto 5.
I really liked how .Mac’s Home Page was integrated with iPhoto. It’s a big reason I even have .Mac at all. I could use Shutterfly or Yahoo, but they aren’t as integrated or efficient as just selecting some photos in iPhoto and then clicking on Home Page.
So now I select the photos and I have to click on iWeb and then select Photo Page. All of the cool Home Page themes (cool frames for photos) are gone. There is now a single theme for photos, and it’s bare-bones.
Am I missing something?
I hate how new iWeb photo pages aren’t integrated with my existing Home Page photo pages. Apple blew it here. I either have to scrap 3 years worth of photo pages or try to rebuild every one of them manually in iWeb.
But I will say that the iWeb method gives me more control over what those photo pages will contain. I just wish they would have incorporated the themes from the previous iPhoto versions and also managed an option to transfer existing Home Pages to iWeb sites.
EDIT - the forum software is replacing the % in the URL with an actual space, so the URL is broken. Just copy the URL into your browser and add a % in-between “January” and “2006” in the URL.
OT: Alert usually isn’t something you put on a “Page Not Found” page. Reminds me of the Angelfire one: “Now you’ve gone and done it! You’ve broken the internet!”
I’ve never used iPhoto before 06. I couldn’t stand the fact that it wanted it to import all of my photos into it’s library and keep them there. Now that it will finally work like iTunes and just use my files where they are, I have really grown to like it and it has become my standard photo organizer. Everyone’s got different deal breakers, it would seem.
