OMG. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long long time.
I was thinking about it last night and woke up today, wanting to change the Front Row icons.

I have my VideoIcon.png, which like the others should be at least and ideally 512x512 but iPhoto keeps scaling at a stupid aspect radio and cropping is blind. Anyway, mine is none other Short Circuit. Wow.
Then Music = Third Eye Blind - Out Of The Vein. iTunes rarely involves CD’s for me and I couldn’t find a better looking piece of art than the HUGE art file for that album which I screenshotted off the single “Cry Cry Cry” cropping off the bottom part that says...Exclusive Single  Then I used it for the album I ripped too. That’s another story.
I left DVD alone because it’s all about a disc no matter what except I rip via HandBrake for free and so far should have three movies by the end of the day, but it takes an hour per movie and about 2gb per hour at 2000 bitrate.
Anyway, again, let me continue. I made a compilation of my six favorite MTG cards that I grabbed off a website that has great quality copies. They are the Demonic Tutor (Black), Serra Angel (White), Sol Ring (Artifact, Brown/Neutral), Vesuvan Doppleganger (Blue), a psychadellic Green Channel (Banned in most tournaments for the first hand killer combination win), and finally a Red Fork. One of each color, which had to be set up in a 2x3 row and then screenshotted twice to minimize the appearance of the title bar. I did this in Preview because iPhoto again was useless for merging and any real editing but this was pretty straightforward. Make sure to use the “-” in the top right to shrink the title bar. Of course, this is now my PhotoIcon.png
10 minutes of work and a reboot. STUNNING.
Finally and firstly, backup the original FrontRow file and the internal PNG’s then make sure to put on a blank CD-R your new creation or even on a web server because I wouldn’t want to lose it. It’s too special. You can add your full size .PNG’s to iPhoto and send them off to your iPod any time.
More tips: Match the original Apple icons in color. E.g., Out Of The Vein vs. Third Eye Blind’s First Album is Green vs. Red and iTunes is Green.
