Here it comes to save the daaaaay!  If you haven’t heard yet, here’s a link to Apple’s new single-but-multi-button scroll mouse.  Looks like typical Apple to me - well designed, beautiful, flexible, innovative, and yet completely simple.  What do you guys think?

A nice piece of kit, but not going to replace my graphics tablet… Give me a bluetooth one, and I’ll consider it.

as w/ bob, id need a bluetooth one.

heres ANOTHER example of how Apple is now thinking the same.  sure, it’s just a mouse, and i shouldnt really give a crap that theres more than one button.  but come onnn.  apple needs to realize that whats popular is not always right, and whats right isn’t always popular.

But the beauty of it is that if you only want one button, it’s only one button.  If you want two, you’ve got two.  I don’t think it’s a departure in philosophy for Apple, I think it’s something they’ve been missing from their lineup for years now.  In fact, in my book it shows that they aren’t changing their philosphy.  Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gone through so much trouble to ensure that it is also a fully usable single button mouse.

Most Mac power users I know, myself included, ditch the regular Apple mouse the day they get a new computer.  It’s great for newbies and people who only want that one button, but it sucks for everyone else.  Now we’ve all got the best of both worlds in one product.

System Requirements: Mac OS X (programmability requires Mac OS X v10.4.2 Tiger or later), or Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

First mouse Apple made that was fit for a PC.

Too bad it doesn’t mention what resolution it has, I know that my mouse has 1.6 dpi of mousing power so I can get sensitive but accurate tracking.
