After bringing back my Dual G4 Tower (Dual 533 Mhz Processors) to take over as my network file server, my ex-server has been gathering dust… And even tho my iMac has XP installed via BootCamp, I hardly ever boot into it except to download pics from my cellphone (ARGH!!!), and I would like for it to always be on OSX… so I would remove BootCamp and XP.
That means I have a spare PC and an XP license sitting around doing nothing.
So I was thinking of buying Parallels and using XP on that - but then I’d miss out on playing my PC Games… ok, so install on the PC (dual-boot with Linux distros that my friend, the American Balloon insists that I try :p)? but in comparison, the PC is heavily underpowered vs my iMac for decent video gaming. I’d still be able to play - it’d just not be as beautiful…
I also have a license for Win98SE and/or 2000 Pro (I think) so I can still buy Parallels and just install one of those for my basic windows needs… but I can’t decide if to leave XP on the iMac/BootCamp or move it over to the PC? Hmmm…
The gamer part of me would say keep XP on the iMac, especially if you plan to be playing Oblivion as you have mentioned in the past. The pragmatic part of me would attempt to install and activate XP in Parallels. If it didn’t work, I would just install 2000 in Parallels and keep XP in boot camp. Of course the network nerd in me would install XP on the other PC and VNC to it when I needed to run Windows apps. I suppose it all depends on what you primarily plan to do with XP.

Parallels is adding support for graphics-related tasks, so maybe you can..... wait and use XP+Parallels+iMac=kickass solution for everything.
Parrelles is friggen sweet i must say. I prolly wouldnt install it simply cuz i dont wanna pay the 100 bux. but i love who u can work both in os x and xp at the same time.
on another note…
