Which digital camera brand is arguably better overall: Nikon or Canon?  We’re talking about a camera that will cost less than $400 by the way.

For $400 or under, pretty much all the top brands (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Kodak, etc.) are fairly comparable.  Some are better than others, of course—from the same manufacturer, so you can imagine the variety from all manufacturers.  If you really want to start comparing for “arguably better,” you’ll have to get into $1500+ range, for example.

Well I’m also concerned highly about UI design/usability but it’ll still be under $400.  Too bad Apple doesn’t make one anymore.
