All Problems Go Away On Their Own Except Idiots
In life we all have our ways to solve problems. Some are better than others, and some pay those people who are better at this, like the Mafia.
Now I have to say that I am calling no one here an idiot. I just had to leave that in the title. If you are reading this then you must be smart, because you found DT.
Moving on.
In life we all have our ways to solve problems. Some are better than others, and some pay those people who are better at this, like the Mafia. I think that everyone in the techy/geek/nerd/whatever-you-want-to-call-yourself community can agree on one thing: Internet Explorer is almost as bad as Norton Antivirus (see The 20 Reasons Why The World Despises Norton Antivirus). Internet Explorer (IE for short) has been around for a long time. I myself hardly ever use IE; the only reason I ever would is if my Firefox won’t support the web page I am trying to get to. IE has never really gotten in my way either; my technically-challenged parents use it and that’s about it. Until one day…
I’ve said before that honest programs that are crap are about equal to adware. IE had never crossed that line until this last week. Over the last few days i saw a breakdown IE floundering from being crappy. I had been called numerous times by my mom who need help with things like “Memory Error” and blue screens of death. Yes, it seemed that Norton might have teamed up with Microsoft to ruin the rest of the programs for the OS (just kidding.)
This morning I thought my problem solving method worked, and it worked well. My mother was using Firefox (she never does unless IE is not working) when I came out of my room all groggy eyed. This surprised me enough to do a double take. I thought “My God! I’ve died and gone to Heaven.” Then my mom tells me she wants me to fix IE (again.) I simply told her to let me work on it for ten minutes.
Instead of fixing it I downloaded Avant Browser. Avant’s new version works well and can be counted on. Also for all those trying to transition away from IE, Avant’s user interface is strikingly similar to the one of IE. This being said, if you don’t like Internet Explorer you can push it to the back of your mind and sleep easy because it will eventually delete its own code. HOORAY!
