Apple reducing FireWire’s role

Wednesday’s new iPod photo and iPod mini models mark a shift in strategy for maker Apple:  they are the first iPods besides the iPod shuffle to come without FireWire cables.  C|NET News.com discusses this odd move for the company that created the FireWire standard.

I personally don’t think this is an odd thing at all… Apple primarily sell iPods to windows users, windows users 95% of the time have USB2, and only 20% of the time have firewire… Nothing odd about it.
