Apple Releases iTunes 4.9, updates iPods

As anticipated and confirmed by Apple, iTunes 4.9 has been released to the joy of millions. A cheering crowd spontaneously gathered outside of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters when word of iTunes 4.9’s release made it out. His highness Steve Jobs made an appearance from his office balcony window and acknowledged the cheering masses. In other places, crime has dropped to zero as residents rejoice together.

Who, me? Fabricate this story? A wee. In reality, there are no joyous crowds; just a listing of iTunes 4.9 in your software update. Download it and be happy. Also, Apple has updated its iPod (white) line. All full-sized iPods, including the U2 iPod, feature color screens. The iPod Photo name has been discontinued. A 20 GB model is priced at $299 and a 60 GB model at $399. A 20 GB U2 iPod is now $329.

thinkback

1.

When will a wireless model come out?  If it’s only $400 for the top-end, Apple will surely do something with AirTunes or more storage soon.

2.

Well, there is an Apple press event soon…
