Geek Toy of the Week: GeekTool 2.1
This kicks off a new weekly feature on Deep Thought: Mac called Geek Toy of the Week. In this feature, we spotlight a tool that the geek in your life will appreciate. So here we go…
GeekTool 2.1
As the GeekTool website states, “GeekTool is a PrefPane (System Preferences module) for Panther or Jaguar to show system logs, unix commands output, or images (i.e. from the internet) on your desktop (or even in front of all windows).” I don’t do much UNIX work, so this isn’t really a big need for me, but the guy who showed this to me (who will remain nameless) is a server administrator and web designer and finds it invaluable. Then again, he is a consummate geek and tweaker with about a million Firefox extensions, ultra-customized desktop, etc…
Anyway, let your geek friends know.
