Geek toy of the Week: Maintain your Mac with Yasu 1.3.1

Has something gone bump in your Mac? Is Safari crashing for some inexplicable reason? Did you screw with part of your system you shouldn’t have? Before you try anything else, turn to Yasu.

Although it designed with system admins in mind, Yasu is one of those tools every Mac user should have installed. It’s useful for many purposes. For example, it can be used to rule out certain possible problems when troubleshooting your Mac (e.g. corrupted cache files). It can be used to run some maitenence scripts that normally run at 3 AM or so. Yasu doesn’t do everything (so don’t toss out that system utility you paid $99 for yet), but it’s a simple utility that does its job well so you can fix your Mac fairly quickly and painlessly. Even though it’s a Geek Toy of the Week, even non-geeks will find a use for Yasu to help clear up some problems without having to call a tech.

The best part? Yasu is completely free!
