iMac light sensor and LCD
Since the iMac has a light sensor to adjust the brightness of the standy light pulse, why doesn’t the LCD also adjust to light conditions?
For normal use, about half the brightness is about right, but when the sunlight brightens up the room, the LCD should adjust and go to a brighter setting.

thinkback
My guess is that they figure that the light levels don’t change as often as they would if someone were using it on the go.
That may be true, but then why would they need to make the glowing dot change but not the whole screen itself?
Though it is pretty easy to change it manually.
They could also make the LCD reduce brightness in a dark room as to reduce eyestrain.

Indeed… if they can give build it into the Powerbooks, why not the iMac? (And is it in the MacBook Pro at all?)
