iPod dominates 2005 Froogle Searches
From the “Signs of iPod Global Domination” desk…
According to Google’s 2005 Year-End Zeitgeist, the ubiquitous iPod accounts for four of the top ten Froogle product searches for 2005.
- iPod
- digital camera
- mp3 player
- iPod mini
- PSP
- laptop
- Xbox
- iPod Shuffle
- computer desk
- iPod nano
It’s interesting to note that the iPod nano is ranked tenth, despite being released only three and a half months ago. “Xbox 360” is one of 2005’s most common search terms (ranked fourth overall--somehow “Janet Jackson” was number one, despite the lack of a “wardrobe malfunction” this past year).
Also of note: “iTunes,” “World of Warcraft,” and “Wikipedia” are listed as “Top Gainers”. Other notable stats include a marked increase in searches for “iPod” after the iPod nano made its debut.
There are some other interesting stats in there. It’s worth a look.
EDIT: typo in title fixed after it became clear to me that “donimates” is not a word…
