Jim Allchin Calls Tiger Just “A Peripheral to the iPod”
Newsweek’s Senior Editor Steven Levy, in his article talks about the eternal rivalry between Apple and Microsoft. He quotes Jim Allchin who calls Tiger a mere “peripheral to the iPod” and suggests that certain Apple’s ideas were inspired by other products. Jobs replies that “you can be assured all these things have plenty of patent protection.” Generally, both OSs seem to deliver similar content and functionality to the end user, yet “If you’re an Apple fan, showings begin on Friday. Windows users will have to wait until Christmas. 2006,” snorts Levy.
