Microsoft has announced the official name for its next generation OS, code-named Longhorn. It will be called Windows Vista. The first Vista Beta will be available on the 3rd of August this year.

Deep Thought’s take: To us, Windows Vista means a distant view, which is all it is at the moment, with an expected release date of Christmas 2006. But for Latvians it means something different, for Vista means chicken.
