Sophos: Mac trojan found

Security firm Sophos reports on a Mac trojan Mac/Cowhand-A. It is described as a proxy trojan that “may copy itself to the user’s Preferences folder. In order to run itself on startup, the Trojan may add itself to the user’s Startup Items.”

To be honest, it sounds a lot like Sophos trying to beef up sales of Mac anti-virus products… They don’t specify how it spreads, they don’t specify how you can become infected, and they don’t specify what it does.  I begin to wonder if it really exists?
