Trouble with iMac G5s?
On a day where Apple recalled 128,000 iBook and PowerBook batteries (including mine), Damien Barrett of mrbarrett.com has posted an article on iMac G5 failures which seem to be affecting many early iMac G5s. He writes of how he feels a recall may be in order and that it may take legal action to get one:
Regardless of whether these boards are failing because of bad capacitors or some other flaw, Apple needs to get a handle on this before it spins out of control.ÖA voluntary recall, I believe, would go a long way to pre-empting any negative press. It’s what responsible manufacturers do. It’s not an isolated case or two anymore but hundreds if not thousands of examples of failed iMacs G5’s. Is there a lawsuit around the corner? Probably. And, unfortunately, that’s what it may take for Apple to move on this issue.
If you have an iMac G5, how is it holding up for you? Have you had any serious issues as of yet?
