Apple copying MS? Or is it BS?

Looks like Paul Thurrott will hear the wrath of Mac users again.

Spotlight’s biggest claims to fame, presumably, are its near-instant search results and support for document meta data, both of which are, again, planned features of Longhorn. But no matter. While Apple has been busy copping Windows features since Jobs returned to Apple in late 1996, the company’s tiny market share ensures that very few people will benefit from Spotlight, despite Apple claims that it will deliver on desktop search a year before Microsoft ships Longhorn.

Let me first say that both companies copy each other. For example, Apple borrowed Fast User Switching, Microsoft borrowed iMovie. 10.3.7 Out

Apple today released Mac OS 10.3.7.  The update brings improvements to graphics card drivers, Firewire device compatibility and numerous other bug fixes.  Weighing in at a mere 17.1 MB this is a small update in comparison to older ones.  But I suspect it may be an important one for a lot of people who had some problems with 10.3.6.

Non-tech post

So yesterday I mostly spent vomiting every half an hour (which was nice).  And today I have mostly spent in bed trying to recover.  It appears that I got some sort of nasty stomach flu… This is bad.  On the plus side, the staying in bed today means that I got quite a bit done on hat-core ñ hopefully I can produce some slightly more readable code than the previous version.
