Review of the Mac mini

My Mac mini arrived yesterday, so what was the first thing that I did?  I took photos and reviewed it of course.  The review is available here.

New Powerbook G4s

So, the rumours of G5 powerbooks once again prove totally unfounded as today apple released new Powerbooks (on a Monday?????).  The new machines top out at a 1.67Ghz G4 and come with a few upgraded features including Bluetooth 2 and a scrolling trackpad.

My new laptop has been ordered!

I’m finally getting my new laptop.  I will finally be able to play Warcraft III on my computer.  This old one sucks.  If you buy a laptop be sure you read a few reviews first.  This new Compaq R3000Z on the other hand had great reviews.  I just wish it had a better video board.

iPod Plays Movies

Well, not quite… again.

This time though, instead of having to sit and scroll the photos past yourself, it comes in the form of a dedicated accessory… Sporting a similar interface to the iPod, the Niko Movie Player allows you to watch movies on a 3.5” screen… Sweet!

ATI Announces Mac Radeon X800 XT

Inside Mac Games reports that ATI has finally brought the Radeon X800 XT graphics card to the Mac.  According to a very positive review by Bare Feats, the Radeon X800 XT beats the nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra in game rendering but is edged out in Motion rendering.  It’s cheaper and less bulky than the GeForce Ultra, and it all adds up to a rather appealing product.

The X800 XT has one Dual Link DVI port so you can use a 30” Cinema HD Display. The other port is ADC, which means you can’t have a dual 30” setup but you can use your old ADC displays without an adaptor.
